Usefulness of inhaled steroids for individuals with asthma complications

Inhaled corticosteroids are typically indicated for treatment of persons with early asthma complications.
According to several latest studies, one may increase the typical dosage of inhaled corticosteroids by eight times, but benefits will be not increased under such circumstance. Ejaz Yousef, an expert that has been involved in these researches, notices that if a health care provider sees that medical position of a patient becomes worse, he/she may indicate administering oral steroids instead of enhancing the dose of inhaled corticosteroids. Yousef and his colleagues have conducted a study which implicated almost 200 children of 2-17 years. These kids were given inhaled corticosteroids during 3 months. They were chosen randomly for treatment for a period of 12 days. Any child that had asthma complications was given inhaled corticosteroids. Then the results were evaluated by the doctors.
No any kid that smoked, had symptoms of chronic asthma or lung pathology was implicated in the research.
Patients had to let know about their adverse results via telephone within 72 hours.  Thus, it was reported about cough during nighttime, wheeze, shortness of breath and intolerance  for exercises. Each result was evaluated according to a score that was ranged from 0 to 4. 0 meant no any effect; 4 meant the most increased severity level.
Only four children out of 82 the children that were given high measures of inhaled steroids had to apply systemic corticosteroids. 2 of them were given doubled dosages; others 2 were applying the dose which was more increased by 8 times than a standard one.
According to the results of the research, usefulness of the medicines, placebo effect, supervision of specialists and treatment of persons during early stages of asthma exacerbation were responsible for acquiring positive results.
This as well as other researches manifest that not every story about steroids is linked with abuse and administration of them as doping. Steroids are effective for a lot of medical purposes.
