Steroid use may be unsafe for youth

Certain medicines are called “performance-enhancing drugs”. What do these medicines represent? Why have been they called “performance-enhancing”? Various individuals may have different definitions. Let present what an adolescent believes! Before presenting her opinion it is important to mention that her brother, Taylor Hooton, had serious depression after administration of steroids. Ultimately, he committed suicide. He wanted to look like Melky Cabrera, Barry Bonds and other famous sportspersons who have taken steroids. But his life ended suddenly. His sister says that performance-enhancing drugs are dangerous medicines. They are named “performance-enhancing drugs” in order to lure young individuals that desire to improve their appearances and performances.
Don Hooton, Taylor’s father, formed a foundation to teach youth about dangers related to steroids. He describes which dangers are associated with application of anabolic steroids and other related medicines. He also uses slideshow presentations in order to explain that these medications can lead to such unwanted consequences, as diabetes, heart diseases, liver disorders, etc.
Don Hooton put efforts to teach young individuals about serious risks linked with usage of steroids. But he admits that it is not easy. He affirms that numerous young persons take doping products. When their friends see that they become stronger and more muscular, they want to look like them. They follow their examples in order to improve appearance and have more endurance.
Unluckily, several parents believe that their children are free from steroid use. Some of them believe that their daughters don’t apply steroids because these medicines are recommended to add muscles and body weight in general. But according to some sources, girls also use steroids. They apply these preparations in order to lose fat. Several parents don’t know that anabolic steroids are also applied to burn fat. That’s why grown-ups also should be educated about effects of steroids. Moreover, certain parents believe that their children don’t administer steroids because these medications are expensive. But it is enough to have 20-500 dollars in order to purchase steroids for a cycle.
It is affirmed that every16th high school student applies steroids. But this opinion is mistaken. Each 16th high school student admits to administering performance-enhancing drugs.   But many young people hide that they administer these medications.
