David Segui and Brian McNamee discussed about steroid use by Roger Clemens

Federal prosecutors hope that the judge Reggie Walton will permit the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball David Segui to present testimony in the trial related to the case of Roger Clemens. This person had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former coach of Roger Clemens. It is stated that they have spoken about steroid use by the former well-known baseball player.
The former personal trainer of Roger Clemens was called to testify against his client because he turned out to be the only person who had direct knowledge about intake of steroids and other related products by Clemens. Moreover, he stored injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles that were allegedly mixed with the blood of Roger Clemens. DNA analysis was conducted in order to determine whether it was Clemens’ blood.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, claimed that the steroid evidence was fabricated by Brian McNamee after the interrogation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he saved some things as evidence of steroid use by several players in 2001. It was some years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by Segui to federal prosecutors differed completely from that presented to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His words presented to the sportswriter were published in an article in 2008. According to that piece of news, Segui claimed that he had never discussed about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui learnt about implication of Brian McNamee into the case of Roger Clemens only in 2006, when he read a piece of news in the Los Angeles Times.
David Segui discussed openly about personal application of steroids and other related medications. He said that he had been asked many times by players of the Major League Baseball whether he had used steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman acknowledged that he had applied them. But Segui noted that he had never spoken about intake of steroids with Brian McNamee.
David Segui supported the decision of McNamee to store evidence about administration of forbidden medicines by his clients. According to the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball, it is a reasonable decision because sometimes innocent persons are blamed but guilty individuals are covered. Thus, Brian McNamee could help to reveal the truth.
Although federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to testify in the trial related to Roger Clemens, the decision of the judge is not announced yet.
