Norwegian investigation Operation Gilde is successful

Norwegian police officers have busted a huge doping ring. More than 10 individuals connected with illegal actions were arrested. Six persons went to prison.
According to news of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was set in Trondheim. DN provided own investigation linked with illicit distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It manages illegal distribution of doping medicines and money laundering.
The arrested persons were connected with bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Some individuals were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, car lots and tram stops.
Police suggest that several individuals are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is included in those who have been arrested. He is a manager and editor of a fitness blog. He coached famous sportspersons within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is supposed that Eilertsen and several other persons have provided dangerous doping medications to Norwegian youth during many years.
Approximately 60 police officers were involved in raids. The raids resulted in 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers announce nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities were also involved in the investigation.
Numerous computers and some documents were confiscated during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested man, have denied their connections with doping preparations. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most prominent gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of athletes that acquired prizes. He coached sportspeople that attended to different sports. Jacobsen is considered to be an experienced nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are accused in sale of doping preparations and money laundering.

Sex stimulants, steroids, packages, boxes, leaflets, vehicles and properties were confiscated from illegal drug ring by Spain’s police

Spain’s police officials arrested Scott Boote, a person, who was involved in illegal actions related to a multinational drug ring producing stimulants which increase libido. Huge amounts of medicines were confiscated by police officials. It was estimated the street value of these products. It was affirmed that it was almost ?3 million. A citizen of the UK, a 72-year-old man from Liverpool, was also questioned. According to statements of police officers, these two persons produced eight new sexual stimulants and offered them for sale per internet without providing medical controls. Six other persons were also questioned during this investigation. Investigators noted that the individuals that were implicated in this illegal drug ring bought cars and another property due to distribution of illicit sexual preparations. Certain bank accounts were blocked by police. More than 100,000 dosages of anabolic steroids, properties and vehicles were seized.
A spokesperson for Spanish police claimed that all members of the drug ring lived very luxuriously. They possess numerous properties and luxury cars. They purchased properties abroad in order to hide the shaded business. Investigators determined that the ring offered for sale sex stimulants for both men and women. The medicines were offered for sale on internet. Individuals from the whole world could purchase the preparations. Thus, people from the USA, the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. were customers that obtained preparations from this ring. Three factories were located in Costa del Sol. Police officers suppose that those who were manufacturing the medications didn’t possess appropriate knowledge for this purpose. According to them, the individuals that were implicated in the drug ring created also legitimate business in order to hide the illicit one. They tried to provide legitimate appearance to illegal operations. Other commercial companies masked the profits obtained from the illegal drug ring.
Police officers also found boxes that had to be sent to customers. Anabolic steroids were also included in the drugs seized by police officers. Packages, labels and leaflets were also found in possession of the arrested persons.

Steroid excuse is suitable way to escape from imprisonment

Although it is not yet displayed scientifically whether uncontrolled aggressive behavior is an adverse response of steroids, these drugs are blamed for some crimes quite frequently.
Michael Barton, a young man from Britain, hit a Ford Fiesta, while he was driving his Volkswagen Golf. Paul Gard was a motorist of Ford Fiesta. Barton had overtaken Paul Gard. But then he had to pull back in front of Paul Gard, since another car was driving the other way. Paul Gard flashed him. Thus, he had to brake immediately. Barton got angered, stopped his Volkswagen Golf, broke the wing mirror of Gard’s car and hit the man in the face. Then Gard’s wife took her mobile and informed police. While she was calling, Barton left calmly.
Michael Barton, a 21-year-old person that has a child of two years old, takes steroids for bulking results. So, it has been confirmed that these substances affected his behavior. The defense attorney for this young man confirmed that steroids had a negative impact on temperament of his client, since these medicines increased his testosterone levels.
Earlier Michael Barton was convicted for some crimes, including domestic violence. Last year he pleaded guilty to an assault, criminal damage and driving carelessly due to his anger following assaults.
The judge Patrick Hooton confirmed that he was not sure that steroids were responsible for his improper behavior. But he noticed that it was entirely mad to get furious and hit a person in the face only because he flashed him. The judge confirmed that Barton’s behavior was very shameful and he said: “you ought to go to prison”.
Thus, this young person was sentenced to 6-month jail sentence suspended for a year; he was also sentenced to pay 500 dollars in compensation and ?277 for damage of the car.

Green tea may make urine tests worthless

Sportspersons become more and more sophisticated in steroid use. They find out new methods to mask their usage of forbidden products. Some athletes spend time studying specialists’ conclusions that could help them to hide that they dope. Today a method has been discovered: athletes may mask usage of testosterone by drinking of green tea.
Testosterone represents a hormone that is secreted in body naturally. So, it can be difficult for anti-doping organizations to determine that a person has used testosterone. T: E ratio testing is usually utilized by anti-doping agencies. Such tests may manifest unusual ratio of testosterone to epitestosterone in urine. But it doesn’t manifest difference between testosterone which has been produced in body naturally and that introduced into body with the help of injections, gels, etc.
Declan Naughton and his colleagues at Kingston University ( London) have determined that green tea contains such compounds which are called “catechins”. They are capable to inhibit the enzyme UGT2B17. This enzyme induces attaching glucuronic acid to testosterone. If UGT2B17 is inhibited, less testosterone glucoronide is excreted in urine.
Catechins, the compounds that are capable to mask intake of testosterone, are in green and white tea. Black tea lacks such compounds.
Naughton and his colleagues have conducted several experiments. They conclude that a cup of strong green tea hides application of testosterone.
So, those sportspeople who apply testosterone may decrease amounts of testosterone that are excreted in urine by consumption of green or white tea. Green or white tea may block excretion of testosterone, increasing circulating levels of this hormone.
The World Anti-Doping Agency was informed about the findings by the scientists. If this process occurs, it is worthless to apply urine tests. Blood tests should be performed in order to determine that a person has used testosterone.
Olivier Rabin, the WADA’s specialist, confirms that regular checks of blood steroids will be added. Everything will be done by anti-doping officials in order to prevent fooling of urine tests.

Amino acids were found in bottles sent to Wim Vansevenant

The case related to Wim Vansevenant, a former Belgian rider, altered significantly. An analysis illustrated that the doping medicines that were ordered by him didn’t contain the contents listed on the labels. This former athlete was cheated by the company where he ordered the products.
Last year some packages sent to the former Belgian rider by an Australian company were intercepted by customs officials. According to the labels of  the intercepted  bottles,  they contained the doping product TB-500. It is a peptide hormone that has ability to induce increasing stamina and speed healing. An investigation was started by the Belgian authorities. It was believed that Wim Vansevenant supplied the Omega Pharma-Lotto team with doping drugs. This athlete rode professionally 10 years, from 1998 to 2008. Last 6 years of the career he was working with this team.
An analysis of the bottles intercepted by customs showed that only amino acids were contained. Wim Vansevenant’s attorney confirmed that the case had to be dropped. He explained that since the drug was not linked with doping, the former sportsperson didn’t deserve to be punished.
The prosecutor’s spokesperson Johan Lescrauwaet affirmed that the contents didn’t correspond to the name of the medicine which was indicated on the label and to the statements of the former rider.
Just amino acids were found in the bottles. No any doping product. So, there is no any evidence that Wim Vansevenant provided doping medications to other persons.
The hearing of Wim Vansevenant was scheduled to be later.

Bruce Goldberger was invited to testify in court related to case against Roger Clemens

Testimonies of the well-known toxicologist Bruce Goldberger will probably impact greatly on decision of the court in the case linked with Roger Clemens. Bruce Goldberger is the Professor of Pathology and Director of Toxicology at the University of Florida College of Medicine. This specialist didn’t testify on behalf of the government. Although he was invited in order to replace Don Catlin, the director of the WADA UCLA Medicine, Goldberger’s testimonies differed from those that are ordinarily presented by anti-doping organizations. This toxicologist testified on behalf of the accused sportsperson.
Bruce Goldberger has gotten his celebrity due to his participation in different news programs. Even during such programs he doesn’t abstain from criticism. Bruce Goldberger criticized several anti-doping agencies, including the WADA.
Bruce Goldberger expressed criticism for federal prosecutors in the case connected with Roger Clemens. They based on “beer can evidence” provided by McNamee to prove that Roger Clemens took steroids and HGH. Brian McNamee, the former personal trainer of this sportsperson, presented a beer can containing utilized needles and syringes which had traces of such steroids, as Sustanon, Primobolan Depot and Deca Durabolin and were mixed allegedly with Clemens’ blood. The beer can was stored by McNamee more than 6 years. The toxicologist argued that such basis was not reasonable.
Goldberger claimed that it was impossible to base on “beer can evidence”. He noted that the accusation couldn’t be proven because the theory of contamination could present.
Thus, the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger didn’t support the affirmations of the federal prosecutors. Earlier he also expressed criticism connected with evidence used by several anti-doping organizations.
Certain years ago the toxicologist Bruce Goldberger testified on behalf of the American cyclist Floyd Landis, when this athlete appealed positives for steroids. A WADA-accredited lab located in France discovered traces of exogenous testosterone; T: E ratio and carbon isotope ratio tests were utilized by the lab. Bruce Goldberger used similar words and criticism during the appeal connected with Floyd Landis.
The toxicologist Bruce Goldberger noticed during an interview that the WADA used inadequate ways and violated rights of sportspersons in order to achieve the success in anti-doping programs.
Floyd Landis lost his appeal and admitted that he had administered steroids, EPO and certain other related preparations.
Nobody knows which results will be reached by Roger Clemens. Will the government prove that he has lied before the Congress? Will he admit to administering forbidden products? Or will be the results contrary?

There is no physical evidence for usage of steroids by Roger Clemens

It is known by each baseball fan that Roger Clemens is accused in obstruction of justice. It is affirmed that he has lied before Congress about usage of steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin, the defense attorney for Roger Clemens, noticed that there was no any difference in physical appearance of Roger Clemens before, during and after his trainings with Brian McNamee. The attorney claimed that this factor proved that Roger Clemens hadn’t administered steroids and other related preparations.
Enhancement of muscle mass is often utilized by federal prosecutors as proof that a person takes steroids or/and other performance-enhancing drugs. But this tendency was not used during the case against Roger Clemens. No one could claim that muscles of Roger Clemens displayed that he had applied steroids and HGH. It is one of differences between the case against Roger Clemens and that against Barry Bonds.
As for the governmental case against Barry Bonds, feds called many individuals in the trial who were able to testify that anabolic steroids led to obvious changes in physical appearance of this person. They affirmed that intake of steroids caused increase of muscle mass, increased size of the head and shrinkage of testicles in Barry Bonds.
So, Rusty Hardin showed 4 photos of Roger Clemens. The pictures displayed physique of Roger Clemens, including the period of time when Clemens was working with the coach Brain McNamee. The attorney noticed that the pictures showed that there were no changes in physical appearance that could support that he took steroids and HGH.
Rusty Hardin noticed that the photos displayed only the process of ageing. The masseur Cheryl Redfern also claimed that she didn’t observe any changes in physique of Roger Clemens. Roger Clemens experienced neither back acne, nor abnormal development of breast tissue, nor essentially enhanced muscle mass.
Phil Garner a former Major League Baseball player also confirmed that there were not any substantial changes in physical appearance and performance of Roger Clemens during working with Brian McNamee.
Steve Durham, the Assistant US Attorney tried to discredit the argument about lack of changes in Roger Clemens’ physical appearance during the cross-examination of Garner. He confirmed that while certain steroids increased muscle size, others didn’t induce enhancing muscles. Thus, he claimed that the pictures could display nothing about steroid use.
Feds want to take advantages in both cases: in the case against Roger Clemens and in that against Barry Bonds. While they affirm that physical changes in Barry Bonds manifest that he has utilized steroids, lack of physical changes in Roger Clemens doesn’t prove that he hasn’t taken steroids.

Anders Breivik used steroids in order to be able to kill people

Anders Behring Breivik is a murderer of over 70 persons. He bombed governmental buildings in Oslo (Norway). Teenagers of the Workers’ Youth League camp were also murdered by him on Utoya island in July 2011.
This person prepared for the massacre significantly. He admitted that he had had steroid cycles.  Since he administered steroids, these medicines were demonized for the murderes by numerous journalists.
But what did specialists affirm? Joerge Moerland, a professor of forensic toxicology at the Norwegian Institute of Public Health, contested statements of these reporters. The physician Moerland claimed that anabolic steroids didn’t contribute in rampage of this person. But the toxicologist noted that he couldn’t contest that these drugs could lead to aggressiveness in the murderer.
An “ECA stack”, a combination of caffeine, aspirin and ephedrine, was also utilized by the killer. In fact, this stack is ordinarily utilized by bodybuilders in order to lose fat and stimulate themselves for workouts. It was set that the murderer has taken great amount of the stack. The amount taken by him was by 50 % more enhanced than it is permitted under rules of European Union.
The specialist Moerland claimed that the murderer’s behavior was more essentially influenced by the “ECA stack” than steroids. He pointed out that ephedrine might cause desire to be implicated in risky activities. Joerge Moerland claimed that the killer’s central nervous system had been affected by ephedrine.
Nevertheless, the toxicologist Moerland noted about limitation of the ECA’ influence. The amount of caffeine consumed by the murderer was equal to approximately 5 cups of coffee. So, the amount was not enough high in order to be blamed for the massacre.
Breivik described his administration of steroids and dietary supplements in details. He also recommended other individuals getting steroids at Alinshop.
The murderer noted that he didn’t like Dianabol because it could cause fluid retention. He noticed that Dianabol could add more body weight than users could carry. According to his affirmations, about 50 % of the gained mass due to this product is fluid retention. The killer decided to apply some combinations that were proper for his purposes.
The killer learnt about advantages and disadvantages of various steroids in order to choose those who were suitable for his needs. He confirmed that Testosterone Propionate had certain priorities over Dianabol. He also suggested that combinations of Dianabol with Aromasin or intake of Dianabol followed by intake of Winstrol could benefit obviously.
So, the killer prepared for the massacre scrupulously. He spent time in order to choose and plan steroid cycles and administration of dietary supplements. He also thought over every detail linked with attacks and murders.
Although some persons confirmed that Anders Breivik was legally insane, it’s wrong. It is obvious that the murders have been committed consciously.

While police officers conduct searches for weapons and stimulants, they find steroids

The newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” reports that outlaw motorcycle gangs should be blamed for spread of illegal administration of steroids in Australia. The gangs get essential profit and reduced risks.
The detective Nick Bingham has confirmed that New South Wales Police doesn’t focus on investigation related to intake of steroids but anabolic steroids become targets of investigations, when outlaw motorcycle gangs are arrested for violation of other laws.
According to the detective Nick Bingham, although New South Wales police officials don’t raid houses of gangs for steroids, they find them, when they conduct searches for weapons and psychostimulant drugs.
Nick Bingham has confirmed that they commonly seize such quantities of steroids from motorcycle gangs that are just for personal application. Quantities of other substances which are commonly found in possession of gangs are much greater than those of steroids.
Nick Bingham has confirmed that criminals prefer utilizing anabolic steroids in order to get threatening muscular physiques. They want to look big and powerful.
Although Bingham is sure that gangs have steroids just for self-administration, the newspaper “The Sydney Morning Herald” doesn’t agree with his point of view. It is reported that motorcycle gangs are implicated in smuggling of steroids.
However gyms are claimed to be the chief sources of steroids for bodybuilders, it is reported by “The Sydney Morning Herald” that some gyms have close connections with motorcycle gangs. The Herald confirms that numerous seizures made by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service are linked directly with distribution of steroids by motorcycle gangs.
According to reports of Australian Customs, mail seizures of steroids have been increased obviously in comparison with past years.
Over 2, 000 seizures were made in 2009-2010 and over 5, 000 seizures of steroids were recorded in 2010-2011.
The majority of seizures were related to self-administration of steroids smuggled by bodybuilders.

David Segui and Brian McNamee discussed about steroid use by Roger Clemens

Federal prosecutors hope that the judge Reggie Walton will permit the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball David Segui to present testimony in the trial related to the case of Roger Clemens. This person had a conversation with Brian McNamee, the former coach of Roger Clemens. It is stated that they have spoken about steroid use by the former well-known baseball player.
The former personal trainer of Roger Clemens was called to testify against his client because he turned out to be the only person who had direct knowledge about intake of steroids and other related products by Clemens. Moreover, he stored injection equipment: vials, syringes and needles that were allegedly mixed with the blood of Roger Clemens. DNA analysis was conducted in order to determine whether it was Clemens’ blood.
Rusty Hardin, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, claimed that the steroid evidence was fabricated by Brian McNamee after the interrogation by federal prosecutors.
But prosecutors confirmed that David Segui told them that Brian McNamee said that he saved some things as evidence of steroid use by several players in 2001. It was some years before Roger Clemens’ former trainer became the target of the investigation.
Information presented by Segui to federal prosecutors differed completely from that presented to the sportswriter Jim Baumbach. His words presented to the sportswriter were published in an article in 2008. According to that piece of news, Segui claimed that he had never discussed about steroids with his friend Brian McNamee.
David Segui learnt about implication of Brian McNamee into the case of Roger Clemens only in 2006, when he read a piece of news in the Los Angeles Times.
David Segui discussed openly about personal application of steroids and other related medications. He said that he had been asked many times by players of the Major League Baseball whether he had used steroids. The former Major League Baseball first baseman acknowledged that he had applied them. But Segui noted that he had never spoken about intake of steroids with Brian McNamee.
David Segui supported the decision of McNamee to store evidence about administration of forbidden medicines by his clients. According to the former first baseman of the Major League Baseball, it is a reasonable decision because sometimes innocent persons are blamed but guilty individuals are covered. Thus, Brian McNamee could help to reveal the truth.
Although federal prosecutors asked the judge Walton to permit Segui to testify in the trial related to Roger Clemens, the decision of the judge is not announced yet.

Both “A” and “B” urine samples of Andre Berto indicated about usage of steroids

The professional boxer Andre Berto tested positive for Nandrolone. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA) conducted the drug testing.
He had to fight against Victor Ortiz on June 23, 2012 in Los Angeles. This boxer agreed to submit to random drug testing before the fight. Both “A” and “B” urine samples indicated about usage of Nandrolone.
It was already the second time this month, when the VADA tested fighters and caught them applying steroids. The first boxer that tested positive this month due to tests conducted by the VADA was Lamont Peterson. He had to meet Amir Khan. It seems to be strange that Peterson requested random blood and urine testing. The drug test conducted by the VADA defined that exogenous testosterone was in system of Peterson several weeks before the match.
Financial position of several companies suffered due to tests conducted by the VADA. For example, Golden Boy Promotions lost significant potential profit due to Lamont Peterson’s positives. It was set by the CEO of the company Richard Schaeffer that the company lost 250, 000 dollars.
The cancelation of the fight between Andre Berto and Victor Ortiz will probably not influence greatly on financial position of certain promotional companies because Andre Berto will be possibly replaced by another boxer who will fight against Ortiz.
The boxer Andre Berto didn’t explain why he tested positive. This fighter hired the attorney Howard Jacobs who would represent and defeat him.
Andre Berto stated that he had never applied steroids. Thus, he noticed that he investigated with his attorney what could lead to positives for steroids. The fighter Andre Berto concluded that he had never cheated; he succeeded in sport because of hard trainings and dedication.
The attorney Howard Jacobs was hired by many other sportspersons that turned out to be victims of contaminated nutritional supplements.
It is claimed that since the steroid Nandrolone has too long half life and it is detected easily, it isn’t very popular among doping athletes. But it has been displayed numerous times that certain dietary supplements contained the substance nandrolone which led to positives for steroids. But since sometimes not every substance is listed on the label, sportspeople become victims of cheating.

Nevada Athletic Commission’s doctor: steroids enhance performance, if only they are taken right before competitions

The American mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen is allowed to utilize anabolic steroids. The doctor Timothy Trainor noted that this mixed martial artist actually experienced hypogonadism.
What does this disorder represent? Hypogonadism is linked with insufficient secretion of testosterone. Health care providers ordinarily recommend testosterone replacement therapy in order to treat this disease.
The athlete Chael Sonnen has received a therapeutic use exemption (TUE). So, this athlete is allowed to use steroids for therapeutic purposes and meet Anderson Silva at UFC 148 in July 2012.
According to indications given by Chael Sonnen’s doctor, he should introduce injections of Testosterone Enanthate and Testosterone Cypionate twice per week. The dosages that are prescribed have not been discussed. But under establishments of the Nevada Athletic Commission, blood serum levels of testosterone in Chael Sonnen should remain within normal range on the morning after the match with Silva.
The physician Trainor confirms that those that compete with TUE must be tested on the morning after the match to learn whether they have applied something right before the fight.
The physician Trainor believes that testosterone is able to cause performance-enhancing effects, if it is utilized right before the fight. He claims that injections must not be introduced in the days before a match to prevent high testosterone levels.
But it seems that the NAC is not aware that steroids cause benefits related to enhancement of performance, not only if they are administered right before competitions. Usage of steroids influences significantly on performance during workouts before competitions. And the benefits remain even after consumers stop administering them.
Sonnen had increased levels of testosterone at UFC 117. He claimed that he had tested positive because he had been on TRT.  He appealed his suspension and it was reduced to 6 months from one year. But Chael Sonnen didn’t have any TUE that time.

Galabin Boevski’s reputation was not destroyed by doping

Galabin Boevski, a Bulgarian weightlifter, World Champion and Olympic Champion, was sentenced to nine-month imprisonment due to illicit international drug trade. This athlete was arrested in October 2011 at the Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil after he attempted to board the plane with 8 kg of cocaine. This weightlifter was headed to Bulgaria. Cocaine was estimated. It could be sold at the price of 500, 000 dollars on the streets in European countries.
Boevski is a well-known sportsperson in Bulgaria. He is claimed to be one of the most celebrated weightlifters in this country.
First he was caught using steroids in 1995. Undoubtedly, he was suspended.
Then this sportsman was caught doping in 2004. It was the second time when he broke doping laws. In fact, Galabin Boevski didn’t test positive for any banned drugs. But anti-doping officials determined that he didn’t provide own urine. The urine that was provided by this sportsman belonged to another individual. As a result, Boevski was sentenced to 8-year suspension. During serving the suspension he was caught smuggling cocaine.
Galabin Boevski became celebrated due to his achievements in weightlifting. This athlete won gold medals at some competitions: at the 1999 World Weightlifting Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Weightlifting Championships in Antalya.
At the 2003 World Championships in Vancouver this sportsperson and his teammates from Bulgaria provided urine samples which belonged to another individual. It was determined by anti-doping officials that the 3 urine samples belonged to one individual. These athletes were sentenced to suspensions. Boevski appealed the suspension but it was not successful.
Boevski broke certain world records at different competitions. He held three world records. The best lifts of this sportsman were following: a 162, 5 kg snatch, 196, 5 kg clean and jerk and a 357, 5 kg of two lifts at the 1999 Championships.
It is strange but this athlete’s reputation was not spoiled in Bulgaria. He utilized his status of celebrity in sports in order to establish a Technogym fitness center in Sofia. The center was called Atama Wellness and Spa.
Moreover, the Brazilian judge Maria Isabel do Prado claimed that Galabin Boevski used also his status of celebrity in sports in order to traffic cocaine. She also noted that this weightlifter utilized the participation of his daughter in a Brazilian tennis tournament to hide his illicit operations connected with trafficking of the narcotic.
The weightlifter Galabin Boevski claimed that he would appeal the conviction.

Andy Pettitte is 50-50 about usage of HGH by Roger Clemens

The desire of the federal government connected with the case of Roger Clemens was following: they wanted to prove that this person had lied before the Congress about administration of anabolic steroids and HGH. But the government couldn’t achieve this goal. It was expected that Andy Pettitte would say that Roger Clemens had acknowledged that he had taken the prohibited products during a conversation in 1999 or in 2000. But the testimony of Andy Pettitte was shocking for prosecutors. This man claimed that he couldn’t affirm that Roger Clemens had used steroids and HGH because he was not sure.
In fact, why were the prosecutors shocked by the affirmation of Andy Pettittte? This person swore for the 2008 Congressional hearings on administration of steroids in the Major League Baseball that Roger Clemens admitted to administration of HGH. But he provided opposite statements at the Barrett Prettyman Federal Courthouse in Washington.
Michael Attanasio, a defense attorney for Roger Clemens, asked Andy Pettitte whether he may affirm that he is 50-50 that he has understood wrongly Roger Clemens about HGH. Pettitte answered that he is actually 50-50 about this factor.
When the prosecutors heard Pettitte’s answer, they didn’t know what to do. They confirmed that Andy Pettitte never said this way, when he was asked certain times.
The U. S. District Court Judge Reggie Walton noted that he understood that Andy Pettitte’s answer has been conflicted. Actually, his statement was following: “I don’t know”.
The attorneys for Roger Clemens utilized the moment of the federal prosecutors’ embarrassment. They asked the judge to ignore Andy Pettitte’s testimony because he was 50-50. The attorneys concluded that he probably misunderstood the athlete Roger Clemens or he can’t remember the details of the conversation.
The government has responded that the jury still allows taking in consideration the affirmation of Andy Pettitte. ASUSA Dunham has pointed out that under federal rules jury is allowed to choose which affirmation to believe. This person hopes that the jury will ignore the testimony which doesn’t support the government.
So, the testimony provided by Andy Pettitte and his wife led to problems. Testimonies of Andy’s wife during the first trial led to the declaration of a mistrial by the judge Walton.
Pettitte confirms that he is a friend of Roger Clemens. Clemens must also claim that they are friends after the last testimony of Andy Pettitte.

Were steroids responsible for crimes committed by Cullen Mutrie?

Police officers came to Cullen Mutrie for a drug investigation. This ma shot five police officers at his home. As a result of the shootout, the Greenland Police Chief Michael Maloney  was killed; 4 police officers were wounded. The next morning Cullen Mutrie and a woman were found dead.
It is suspected that Mutrie was applying anabolic steroids at the time of the shootout. Jane Young, the New Hampshire Associate Attorney General, stated that toxicology reports were waiting in order to find out whether metabolites of steroids were in the body of Cullen Mutrie.
Police officers affirmed that Mutrie had been a muscular person. He worked at Genetix Fitness in Seabrook. It was reported that he was 6 feet 3 inches tall. Cullen Mutrie weighed 275 pounds. During a raid that was in July 2010 police officials found anabolic steroids at his home. The police officer Wayne Young saw them in a coffee table. He said that he had observed a plastic bag with several vials. A vial was with powder; others contained liquid. The labels indicated that they were steroids.
The New Hampshire State Crime Lab analyzed the vials. It was reported that the vials contained Trenbolone Acetate, Sustanon 250, Boldenone Undecylenate and Nandrolone Decanoate.
John Miller, a professor of kinesiology, was asked whether a connection between the deadly actions and “roid rage” of anabolic steroids could present. The professor confirmed that it was plausible. But according to him, it is impossible to confirm that there was a direct link between usage of anabolic steroids and the crime.
John Miller supposed that steroids that were on the black market were provided from legitimate pharmaceutical companies. But he has been mistaken because the majority of steroids that are sold on the black market are produced in underground labs. It is even suspected that Mutrie produced steroids.
Since a link between crimes and steroid use is a controversial issue, not only policemen but also media investigates the case related to this shootout.

Alistar Overeem used injectable testosterone accidentally

Alistar Overeem, a mixed martial artist, appealed his suspension that was received by him for administration of anabolic steroids in April 2012. But Alistar Overeem couldn’t win his appeal against members of NSAC. This fighter forfeited his license for nine months. Then Alistar Overeem will be allowed to receive it back.
This fighter acknowledged that he had administered injectable testosterone that was advised him by his doctor. Overeem utilized the strategy that was considered to be boring. He claimed that he had never applied anabolic steroids or other related medicines knowingly. He tried to make the NSAC believe that his injectable administration of steroids was accidental.
David Chenoff, the defense attorney for Alistar Overeem, is experienced in defending famous sportspeople.
David Chesnoff called the personal physician of Overeem to testify during the appeal. It was supposed that Dr. Molina would testify in defense for his patient. Testimonies of this doctor were too pitiable. The doctor Molina presented an explanation for prescriptions of certain products that resulted in Overeem’s elevated testosterone: epitestosterone ratio.
The treating physician of Alistar Overeem acknowledged that he recommended and injected this athlete with a mixture of Toradol and Dexamethasone because he suffered from an injury. In fact, these preparations are used for anti-inflammatory purposes. But usage of testosterone for recovery from injuries is not approved by the FDA.
It is believed that the physician Molina hasn’t warned this athlete that these drugs contain the anabolic steroid testosterone. But it is obviously that he has never asked about it.
So, testimonies of the doctor Molina turned out to show lack of the evidence linked with therapeutic purposes for administration of forbidden drugs by Alistar Overeem. The health care provider couldn’t provide any reasonable explanation which could justify prescribing of Toradol and Dexamethasone to his patient. Testimonies of the doctor Molina worked against Alistar Overeem.
Actually, it became evident that Alistar Overeem was a victim of the health care provider’s quack.
But it is possible to suggest that this strategy was designed by the defense attorney for this athlete.
The commissioner Pat Lundval was probably impressed by the defense of Overeem. She even referred to him as to a “smart guy”.
The members of the NSAC seemed to believe that Alistar Overeem has been really a great guy but he has surrounded himself with such questionable individuals, as the health care provider Moline. They recommended him to look for more qualified professionals in the future.
