Links between steroids and rhabdomyolsis

Over 10 players of the Iowa Hawkeyes football team were taken in hospital due to  rhabdomyolsis. This is an illness connected with fast damage of skeletal muscle which results in leakage into urine myoglobin, a muscle protein. Persons with this disease suffer from serious muscle aches, weakness and soreness. Since byproducts of the muscle destruction become toxic to the kidneys, there is an enhanced risk of kidney failure in this situation.
Experts started promptly to demonize nephrotoxic supplements or anabolic steroids in occurring of rhabdomyolsis in players of the Hawkeyes but there was no any  link between these products and this disease in them. The physician James Williams told to CBS during an interview that nephrotoxic supplements had to be blamed for the condition in these football players. He claimed that persons had dehydration, when their muscles became broken due to hard trainings. When supplements are administrated in such situations, they are turned to be toxic to kidneys directly, according to James William. He added that this condition led to rhabdomyolsis.
Unluckily, the media didn’t interview real high-qualified specialists. Only so-called specialists were asked by media. That’s why the conclusions were misleading.
It is suggested that Mike Gimbel of a Maryland anti-steroid and anti-supplement organization doesn’t possess sufficient knowledge. He just claims that although they do not know how the supplements act in body and whether they cause any benefits, these products are quite dangerous for health.
Nevertheless, certain facts displayed that anabolic steroids were not responsible for rhabdomyolsis of the football players. These patients submitted to tests for banned products and they tested negative. Furthermore, an expert has studied and shown that there was no any link between muscle disorders and anabolic steroids or HGH. Richard J. Auchus, a specialist on steroid metabolism at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, claims that gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid is the only medicine that could cause this condition. Sometimes this drug is taken for anabolic effects as well. Gamma-Hydroxybutyric acid is an illegal preparation. Some experts like Auchus, a consultant of the U. S. Anti-Doping Agency, believe that no any substance is to be demonized for this condition of the players. He believes that the muscle damage is caused by extremely hard training to which the coaches pushed the athletes.
The trainer Chris Doyle will be probably condemned for rhabodomyolsis of the football players, if steroids or other supplements will be not turned to be the reasons of the disease. Who knows? Even sport in itself may be accompanied by some risks.

However other teams also used steroids in 1970s, the Pittsburgh Steelers won many times

When it is announced that the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to play, reporters seem to have responsibility to write about their links with steroids. They put efforts to create a steroid scandal and to find any supposed relations of this team with it.
Mike Fish of ESPN displayed the same attitude, when this football team played in the 2009 Super Bowl.  Thisjournalist turned to have luck in writing news connected with this football team and steroids.
However sportswriters are not always lucky, when it comes to relations of a team or a person with performance-enhancing drugs before a competition, the situation is changed, if it is said about the Steelers. Sportswriters like writing about their history, about the lesson related to anabolic steroids that took place in 1970s.
David Fleming wrote about historical lessons of the Pittsburgh Steelers before a game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers. This sportswriter reported about time, when the NFL hadn’t yet prohibited application of steroids. Thus, according to some sources, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ players used steroids in the late 1970s. It is mentioned in the 1991 book “False Glory: The Steve Courson Story” that more than 70 % of the offensive linemen of the Steelers  took steroids.
It must have been true but it is necessary to understand that intake of steroids was not prohibited. Why are the Steelers condemned, if application of steroids was allowed?
Jim Haslett told the New Orleans Saints that the Steelers had won a lot if times in 1970s and in 1980s due to steroids. According to this trainer, the football players of the team became much more powerful due to intake of steroids.
But it is important to be cautious here. The Steelers were not the first football team that applied steroids and other medications that enhance performance. There were other teams in professional football that administrated steroids even in well-organized manner.
Matt Chaneygives the better explanation connected with intake of steroids in football. He wrote in his book “The Spiral of Denial: Muscle Doping in American football” that the Steelers were not responsible for the steroid revolution in football. There was another team that had to be condemned for this factor. The San Diego Charges used steroids before the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1960s.
Although the Steelers used steroids in 1970s, it is impossible to consider that they won due to steroids. There were also players of other teams who administrated these medicines too. Nevertheless, the Pittsburgh Steelers were successful!

Unbelievable features of Trenbolone

Trenbolone is an anabolic steroid which is taken in bodybuilding for numerous years. Unluckily, this preparation has never been considered to be  a good medication for therapeutic purposes. It is not approved for human use by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). This medicine has been blamed many times by media. Numerous articles have announced that this medication is very  dangerous. But recent researches have displayed opposite aspects. It is suggested that common attitude to this preparation can be soon  changed. Joshua Yarrow and his colleagues from the University of  Florida consider that this product may be administrated as testosterone for hormone replacement therapy.  They say that it is an effective alternative product to testosterone for the need mentioned above. Results of studies led by these specialists have been published in the American Journal of Physiology – Endocrinology and Metabolism.
Furthermore, the experts assure that trenbolone enanthate has even certain priorities over testosterone for several individuals. Bodybuilders  know and support the affirmations connected with this product. As it is known, testosterone aromatases. As for trenbolone, it is converted neither to estradiol, nor to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). That’s why trenbolone doesn’t lead to unwanted consequences connected with estrogen and DHT.
Joshua Yarrow  says about the researches led by him and his colleagues. Castrated rats have been given trenbolone enanthate.  Even reduced amounts of this preparation have enhanced their muscle mass and kept bone mineral density. There have not been reported such negative symptoms, as prostate enlargement or polycythemia in these lab rats.
But too increased doses of testosterone enanthate were required to cause the same anabolic results in muscles as were caused by reduced measures of trenbolone enanthate. But such side reactions, as enlargement of prostate and increased hemoglobin accompanied the enhanced measures of testosterone enanthate. It is supposed by the researchers that trenbolone acts like selective androgen receptor modulators, producing anabolic effects in muscles and bones without androgenic adverse symptoms.
Professional competitive bodybuilders like administrating trenbolone some weeks before competitions because it promotes fat loss. Furthermore, the studies have shown that the same measures of trenbolone have more powerful lipolytic effects than those of testosterone. It has been detected that more trenbolone a person administrates, the greater the fat loss is caused.
Since trenbolone lacks aromatization, it is usually used together with such steroids, as testosterone, Dianabol or with another aromatizable steroid. The lack of aromatization leads trenbolone to disability to be administrated alone for hormone replacement therapy. The non-aromatizable property of this remedy is responsible for just partial protective effect of bones.
Nonetheless, it is possible to make conclusion that additional studies are needed in order to use trenbolone for hormone replacement therapy.

Experts have various attitudes when it comes to Alberto Contador’s positive for Clenbuterol

The cyclist Alberto Contador who won the 2010 Tour de France tested positive for Clenbuterol. Quantities of this substance in his body were very small. They were 40 times less than its minimum standard of the detection ability. But the World Anti-Doping Agency lacks tolerance totally when it comes to this substance. Any amount of this substance uncovered in an athlete’s body causes ban.
Alberto Contador proclaims that contaminated meat is responsible for his positive for Clenbuterol. Many specialists believe him, since the quantity detected in his urine are very small.   Nonetheless, Alberto Contadorwas banned.
The anti-doping expert of Contador’s defense team Douwe de Boer announces that he becomes disappointed in decisions of the WADA day by day. He mentions that he seems as if the WADA enjoyed to ban innocent sportspeople but not to determine cheaters.
Zhao Jian of China’s Anti-Doping Agency assures that a person may test positive from contaminated meat. It is not just anyone’s point of view. This affirmation is scientifically proven. The specialist Detlef Thieme of the Institute of Doping Analysis and Sports from Germany supports this statement too.  He assures that nobody may doubt about it.
Wilhelm Schaenzer of the Laboratoty for Doping Analysis at the German Sports University in Cologne says that it is an obvious problem that they do not have ability to investigate and detect doping clearly.
According to anti-doping studies conducted in Cologne, it is more likely to detect Clenbuterol from contaminated meat than from intentional use of this medicine for athletic purposes.
China’s National Anti-Doping Laboratory informs that experiments led by them have displayed that consumption of pork meat containing Clenbuterol may cause positives for this substance.
But there are skeptic persons who think that the Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador has administrated prohibited medicines.
Skeptic attitude to the Spanish cyclist Alberto Contador may be explained by the condition that usage of EPO, anabolic steroids, HGH and other products that have performance-enhancing effects is widespread in cycling. The former cyclists Floyd Landis and Bernhard Kohl that have been caught by the WADA assure that all cyclists use performance-enhancing drugs. Patrick Arnold, a chemist has the same opinion.

Why should fair athletes receive suspensions together with liars?

Decisions of anti-doping agencies are not fair in certain situations. While several sportspersons break anti-doping rules, the whole teams are suspended. So, athletes who do not lie suffer together with liars. Can’t you find it  unfair? Why should good sportspersons be kept from making their hopes and dreams real, while other individuals violate anti-doping rules?
The football program of the college from Waterloo was shut down for a year. It was due to results of an investigation.  Everything began from a bust of a player who was caught having numerous  vials of anabolic steroids and HGH. This detection led to many investigations led in Canadian colleges. The investigations were led by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport.
An investigation resulted in eight positives of the Waterloo football players. The positives caused the decision to suspend the whole team for a year.
Unluckily, innocent players of the Waterloo College were suspended together with liars who administrated forbidden performance-enhancing medications. Matt Vonk and Steve Ples  played at Laurier before the scandal related to steroids and the suspension. These two football players didn’t test positive for steroids. That’s why Matt Vonk and Stele Ples hadn’t receive the suspension.
These two former football players for the University of Waterloo intended to transfer to another college in order to realize their dreams connected with football. But they received refusal. So, these players will be kept from playing football the whole year.

Lack of knowledge connected with steroids is displayed in several articles

Since subjects linked with steroids are popular in the whole world, a lot of journalists write about them even lacking proper knowledge connected with these substances. Some journalists are not able even spell names of the medications about which they write articles. When an article’s subject is connected with a well-known steroid utilized by many athletes, readers expect to find out about essential characteristics and studies connected with this steroid. A reporter who writes about a steroid must possess at least general information linked with it.
Unfortunately, you can come across significant ignorance, when you read pieces of news connected with steroids. For example, Matthew Kelly has written an article about Nandrolone Decanoate which was published in the Newcastle Herald newspaper. As it is well known by many people, the trade name of this medication is quite popular. Athletes often call it shortly: they call it just Deca instead of Deca Durabolin.  The name  “Deca Durabolin” has been used for about 50 years. But the reporter of the Newcastle Herald has done mistakes even in the name of this well-known steroid. This author has written it following: Decca Duarbulon. Can you trust the words of this journalist? Could you be sure that the other affirmations which are presented by this author  are true, if he can’t even write the name of the medication correctly? Moreover, it is not the only case displayed the lack of knowledge  about the things he writes. The Newcastle Herald seems to lack researches linked with steroids. Matthew Kelly asks the local trainer to support his affirmation about steroids which is following: black market of anabolic steroids is full of young sportsmen that look for medications that possess performance-enhancing effects to build nice bodies. Since it must be true, the trainer can’t support the statement because he knows just the aspects he has been said. He can’t report anything actually because he is not involved in this problem directly.
Another lack of researches is shown in the Newcastle Herald’s description of the way to detect steroid users. It is written that if an individual has massive arms but not chest or  a massive chest and not arms, he\she is steroid user. This is the “depth” of researches presented by the Newcastle Herald.
